On Sunday, two people were hurt when a bomb was thrown at a security checkpoint in Quetta Chaman Phatak area. Superintendent of Police (City) Azhar Shah said that the people who were hurt were taken to Civil Hospital right away. The area was quickly blocked off by police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). A probe was then started.
According to the first probe, the suspects threw a bomb at the security station. But the bomb didn’t hit its mark and went off outside the gate. PR SP Shah also said that the attackers are being tracked with Safe City cams.
A spokesman for the Balochistan Health Department, Dr. Waseem Baig, stated that Osama and Ghulam Hussain are safe and getting medical care.
A lot of bad things happened in Balochistan last week, including this attack. At least 50 people were killed in attacks across the state, including 14 police officers. They attacked police posts, burned train tracks, and set fire to almost thirty cars. The terrorists were tied to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
As a result, security forces carried out actions that killed 21 terrorists. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of Balochistan have promised to eradicate terrorism in the province.
In another terrible incident, 23 people were killed by terrorists in Musakhail, a town close to the Punjab border, after they checked their IDs. Musakhail SSP Ayub Achakzai said that the side of the road found 23 bodies full of bullet holes. One person who had been shot in the legs was saved.
Militants struck a Levies station, two restaurants, and the home of a tribe leader in Kalat, where there was more fighting. A flyover on the national highway was also set on fire. Eleven people died in the following gun battle, including four Levies officers and a police sub-inspector. Nine other people were hurt, including Aftab Lasi, who is an assistant commissioner at Kalat.
The recent rise in violence shows that Balochistan still has a lot of security problems, even though the government is working harder to fight terrorists.
