Famous Bollywood actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has talked about the death threats she says she got after the trailer for her new movie, Emergency, came out. Kangana plays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie, which is set to come out on September 6.
Indian news sources say that these threats started soon after the video was released. A lot of different groups have also protested and asked people not to watch the movie. Even so, Kangana has taken a strong and rebellious attitude in response.
Kangana made it clear in a recent interview that she would not be scared. She told me, “You cannot scare me; I will not let India’s voice be silenced, nor will I let these threats impact the film’s release.” Kangana’s words show how determined she is to stand up to those who are trying to stop the movie from doing well.
In addition, Kangana stressed that the truth can’t be hidden or pushed down. She told her that if she gave up now, more artists might be scared off in the future, which could stop people from being creative and free to express themselves. She talked about how this would set a bad example.
Kangana also spoke out against these kinds of threats to change history. She promised that artists would not let wrongs happen again. The emergency release has already been pushed back because of ongoing problems. The Indian control board has not certified the film because of the protests.
