Israeli troops have killed at least nine Palestinians in a large operation in the northern West Bank. Fighter jets, ground troops, drones, and bulldozers all took part in the attack, which began early Wednesday morning.
Places Affected
- Jenin: Two Palestinians were killed.
- Tubas: Four people died in the Far’a refugee camp. Israeli soldiers stopped paramedics from getting to the hurt people.
- Seir: Three Palestinians were killed when an Israeli drone targeted their vehicle.
Since 2002, this is the biggest job of its kind. Israeli troops are aiming at Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas all at the same time. Around 80,000 Palestinians live in these places.
Since October, when the war on Gaza began, there have been a lot more raids on the West Bank. Reports say that three strikes happened overnight in different places.
The Israeli forces said that the people who died were “armed terrorists” who were a threat. They also said that more suspects had been caught and that bombs had been found in the Far’a camp.
A Middle East expert named Omar Baddar thinks that this invasion could be part of a larger plan to take over and “ethnically cleanse” parts of the West Bank.
