Kyushu Island was hit by Typhoon Shanshan on Thursday at 8 a.m. local time in Kanagawa, Japan. It brought very bad weather with it. The Japan Meteorological Agency recorded the event. It made things very hard for a lot of people in the area.
The 252 km/h winds were very bad and caused a lot of damage. Roofs were blown off, trees fell, and windows were broken. Because of this, trains and planes stopped running, making it harder for many people to get around.
What Happened to the Residents
According to Kyushu Electric Power Co., more than 200,000 homes lost power in the afternoon. After the storm, many people also lost power, making things even worse. There were also reports of injuries and deaths, but the exact numbers are still being checked.
